Түркия биыл алғаш рет GSTC тұрақты туризм конференциясын өткізуге дайындалуда. Конференция елдің туризм астанасы – Анталияда  2023 жылдың 9-12 мамырында ұйымдастырылады.

Тұрақты туризм мен саяхат үшін жаһандық стандарттарды белгілейтін және осы стандарттарды іске асыруды қадағалайтын Жаһандық Тұрақты Туризм Кеңесі (GSTC) биылғы басқосуға Түркияны таңдады. GSTC – туризм мен саяхатты дамытудың жаһандық шарттарын белгілей отырып, тұрақты дамытуды қамтамасыз ететін коммецрялық емес ұйым.

Сонымен қатар тұрақты туризмнің ең өзекті мәселелерін талқылау үшін әлемдік көшбасшылармен түрлі шараларды жүзеге асырады. Пандемияға байланысты екі жыл қатарынан онлайн режимде өткен конференциялар сериясы былтыр Испанияның Севилья қаласында ұйымдастырылған. Түркия да қатысқан 2022 GSTC Тұрақты туризм конференциясында 2023 конференциясының Түркия Туризмді алға жылжыту және дамыту агенттігі (TGA) тарапынан білдірілген ұсыныстан кейін Антальяда өтетіні жарияланды. Жиында қатысушылар үшін арнайы дайындалған бейнеролик ұсынылып,  Түркияның Ұлттық тұрақты туризм бағдарламасына арналған уақыт бөлінді.
